1. She's not attractive. The dig was at her (lack of) intelligence.
2. One of the advantages of not campaigning on a platform of moral superiority is that you don't look like a hypocrite when it turns out that you're not morally superior. Obama's mother and Palin's daughter both got pregnant out of wedlock, but as far as I know Obama's grandmother was not trying to save the world from the morally bankrupt godless liberals trying to pass out condoms to kindergartners.
When you throw your morals into the face of anyone who disagrees with you they get to throw them right back when they find out you're a phony, or at least no better than the rest of us.
1. It was Palin's daughter that was pregnant out of wedlock. Surely you're not advocating blaming the parent for the mistake of the daughter. But if you are, at least the daughter was taught enough morals to have the baby. The president has gone on record to say if or when one of his daughter's gets pregnant in a similar situation he "doesn't want them to be punished" by having to keep the baby. I can only assume he prefers the abortion of the baby instead of the "punishment" of giving birth to a living being. Who would be more moral in this case? But you're right, he didn't campaign on morals--at least not any superior morals.
2. Since Obama did not campaign on a platform of "moral superiority", though I've never read those words in the Republican Platform, what would you classify the Democratic Platform to be morally? Is the Republican or Libertarian just as good?
It was Palin's daughter that was pregnant out of wedlock.
I know, and I tailored my example to represent that (see the thing about Obama's grandmother?).
I didn't even mention that Sarah and Todd allegedly eloped after they found out Sarah was pregnant with her first child. Supposedly his birthday is 8 months after their wedding. This is spurious and unconfirmed so I won't comment.
Surely you're not advocating blaming the parent for the mistake of the daughter.
I'm not blaming anyone. I'm pointing out hypocrisy.
If I were blaming I'd generally have no problem blaming parents in part for the trouble their kids are causing.
But if you are, at least the daughter was taught enough morals to have the baby.
No, at MOST she was taught enough morals to have the baby.
The president has gone on record to say if or when one of his daughter's gets pregnant in a similar situation he "doesn't want them to be punished" by having to keep the baby.
You've completely misrepresented what he said and what he was talking about. He was talking about sex education. He said that as a father he would teach his daughters about values and morals. He went on to say that this was not enough, because "if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby. I don’t want them punished with an STD at age 16, so it doesn’t make sense to not give them information [about safe sex]."
He was in no way, shape, or form talking about or advocating abortion for his daughters. He was talking about preventing the world of trouble that comes with pre-marital/teenage/unsafe sex. "Punished with a baby" may sound taboo, but when people have sex when they're not supposed to bad things happen. One of those things may be pregnancy.
I can only assume he prefers the abortion of the baby instead of the "punishment" of giving birth to a living being.
Clearly, since what he said had nothing to do with that.
I don't know which he prefers. For the most part, so far as he doesn't try to impose his personal preference on me and my family I don't really care which he prefers.
Who would be more moral in this case?
Wait, you're crafting a hypothetical and asking me to judge, in the abstract, whether Sarah Palin or Barack Obama would be more moral?
Oh wait, I know! It's a trick question! Since parents aren't responsible then neither of them is more moral because it was the kids that screwed up.
But you're right, he didn't campaign on morals--at least not any superior morals.
No, you've misrepresented me now. I didn't say he didn't campaign on morals or superior morals, I said he did not run on a platform of moral superiority.
Since Obama did not campaign on a platform of "moral superiority", though I've never read those words in the Republican Platform, what would you classify the Democratic Platform to be morally? Is the Republican or Libertarian just as good?
I think you're asking if I think the Democratic platform is more moral than the Republican or Libertarian platform.
We all vote our values. I generally value imperfect weasels over hypocrites.
The worst sinners, according to Jesus, are not the harlots and publicans, but the religious leaders with their insistence on proper dress and grooming, their careful observance of all the rules, their precious concern for status symbols, their strict legality, their pious patriotism... the haircut becomes the test of virtue in a world where Satan deceives and rules by appearances.

I'm pretty sure this is a win/win for everyone!
Is there a problem that she's attractive?
Obama might be able to talk about teen pregnancy posthumously for his mother.
